Man.

This really isn't all that great.
The animation is all right, and the music works well enough with the game, but there are so many flaws, a good many relating to the gameplay. I agree with previous reviewer Atur on a lot of points.

- You can hold A and Mario will automatically double-jump, rather than pressing it twice which makes more sense.
- Sometimes you fall slightly into the ground.
- Enemies can be killed simply by pressing down-C, and when repeated, it makes for a very easy fight with Bowser.
- Bowser's attacks, although better than in the original Mario Combat, still seemed horribly unorganized and the fireballs were occasionally impossible to dodge.
- Most of the enemies look a bit rushed in drawing terms.
- The enemies are basically like zombies. They slowly hobble toward you and punch you repeatedly if they're near enough. They're also very stupid--they fall off cliffs when trying to attack you, and since there are a lot of spots in which you can fall, a lot of enemies die without you even attacking them. This is particularly unusual with the red koopas, as only the green ones in real Mario games are supposed to fall.
- If two or more enemies attack you at the same time, your health goes down at a ridiculous rate. There's no damage-flashing or anything that can be considered a chance to get away from the attack. You just have to keep jumping until none of the enemies seem to be punching you for a moment.
- All the enemies are exactly the same, just with a different appearance. Even their fists look alike.
- Every level

Overall I think the first Mario Combat is much better with the feel of its gameplay and how much larger its 'variety' is, both with enemies and the level designs. And... the sprite graphics are probably better, too. Aside from Mario's animations with spinning and such, this didn't have very much detail. The castles were practically squares.

You're quite talented with ActionScript and animating, D-Sun, but I feel like just about every rehash Mario Combat game you've made so far has failed in being a really 'polished' game.

I got all the medals.

At first I thought Glaiel and The-Swain just collaborated to make an incredibly generic game. During the first part of the game, it is. But as it progresses, the graphics get noticeably worse, and the game gets much harder and actually makes you start to think because of how ridiculously hard it gets to distinguish coins from enemies from blocks-- You can't even tell if a building in the background is a wall in the foreground. And that's about when I realized this game isn't like any other.

The music is fitting, although after a while it's slightly repetitive since it's only 33 seconds long and the game takes a good bit longer than that to beat. The gameplay is also as simple as can be...

But I had to give this at least an 8 for its crazy creativity, its fine use of AS3, and the fact that I couldn't stop playing until I was done.

It's much easier than the first

But I do like the new crazy puzzle additions in this one. The whole Superman/Kryptonite thing was really clever, and I think my favorite level might be the one in space. I figured it out! XD

This game is quite fun

The game itself is interesting in the sense that you can avoid things simply by not moving... but for some reason I found the most enjoyment just trying to knock around the bad yellow circles and hearing the sound they make as they bounce all over the place.

I felt like I was doing a pretty good job, especially since I reached 6000 a day after getting all the upgrades without even bouncing once through the water. Then I saw the message "Were you even trying?" and my confidence died, lol

Penguins can fly after all. They just need a huge rocket, a slick glider, and a high ramp to do so.

Fun stuff!

This actually doesn't remind me of Pico's School nearly as much as it reminds me of my own game, Riddle School. This game isn't based around violence, even with the blood still on the walls. It's just some cleverly put-together puzzles... in pixelated wonder!

The clicking-only-on-the-letters was slightly annoying, however, as well as the fact that the Medals boxes got in the way of the button that progresses the text. It would be convenient if this was fixed, along with the glitches DjTrancite mentioned in his review.

I had fun playing this game and getting all the Medals that came with it =)

I'm quite certain

this is one of the weirdest games I have ever played in my entire life.

Love #3, hate #2.

After a ton of frustration, not with myself, but with the game, I decided to type up this review after having only perfected half the songs.

Some of the songs in this game are better than those in SCGMD3, and they're all a pretty decent length, too. If all the songs in this game were remade in SCGMD3-format, then this probably be just as great of a game.

However, the timing really threw me off. The songs in Amateur, for the most part, fit well with the music. But then certain songs--like The Legend of Zelda - Rockin'! in Amateur, and EVERY song in Pro--have so many notes that are JUST off-sync enough that you simply can't play what the beat in the song itself is.

Then the videogame-remixes you chose just didn't fit well anyway with the game, or at least not to me, because I know all of the actual songs from the games, and every remixed note that was in a different place than I'm familiar to threw me off as well.

It was also frustrating how it wasn't clear if you'd missed a note somewhere in a song and then discovered later you had just gotten a disappointing award. And you can't tell how much longer a song will last, either, unless you were to time yourself after looking at the menu.

Then there was that guitar selection screen. After playing a song, if you wanted to go to another, you had to go right back to the main menu and pick the guitar you want over and over again. Plus, none of the unlockable guitars that I discovered were even worth unlocking, because they all had distracting images popping out of the notes.

Thus, this makes for a rather annoying game.

Fortunately, the third Super Crazy Guitar Maniac Deluxe game fixes every single one of these mistakes, and is one of the greatest and most addicting games ever made. The best part about this game is that it led to #3, and #3 is the best of the series.

This... is fun.

I'm still trying to figure it all out. The real difficulty is just trying to figure out what to do. Then it's only a matter of time before you figure out what to type.

lol

I'd feel bad if I gave this a low or a high score. It's incredibly sloppy, but at the same time, it's kind of jokingly professional. Even though this game doesn't even take a full second to play, it's sorta fun.
